Most memorable chocolate experience:
The day I tasted a piece of fudge from our first batch of organic Rich Rainforest Dark.
My favorite chocolate is:
Earth's Sweet Pleasures Rich Rainforest Dark with walnuts

I love dark chocolate so much my husband and I created a company to market his organic fudge recipe!

I created this page to share my passion for good quality dark chocolate and my passion for the world's cacao farmers. I'm still learning a lot about the whole "fair trade" issue, and I like the idea of "Direct Trade" proposed by Clay Gordon. The chocolate we use in our fudge comes from a co-op in the Dominican Republic. I want to do more research on how the farmers are paid, treated, etc. I know our chocolate tastes really good. It won first place at the San Francisco Chronicle chocolate festival. We get it from Sweet Earth Organics in San Luis Obispo. The owner, Tom Newhaus has a foundation called Hope and Fairness Foundation: http://www.hopeandfairness.org which is helping the cacao farmers in Africa. He goes every summer to the Ivory Coast. We are going to Venezuela in the winter to visit cacao farms. Chocolate farming and the history of chocolate is interesting. If you visit our website: http://www.earthssweetpleasures.com, you can see the farmers with cacao trees and pods and the beans drying. Chocolate is wonderful, and this is going to be a fun ride! Very soon I will have our blog up www.chocolatefudgecafe.com. Come in for a cup of hot chocolate and some conversation! I'll try to keep it interesting and controversial...I enjoy a good debate!

It's been over a month since I last posted. I've been mostly learning Search Engine Marketing and getting ready to go to the Natural Products Association expo in Las Vegas July 17-19 to debut our fudge! If any of you happen to be there, please visit our booth. If you want to see the latest happenings with Earth's Sweet Pleasures, you can visit my blog "The Chocolate Fudge Cafe" where our latest newsletter is the first post. I guess the biggest news is that we are promoting our 2.5 oz. Rich Rainforest Dark Bar to stores nationwide! Very soon we will have photos of our bars and the box they come in on our website www.earthssweetpleasures.com
Blogging is time-consuming, especially as I'm a newbie at all this, but I'm having fun and hope you'll leave a comment OR, if you have anything you would like me to publish about fair-trade chocolate, send me an e-mail at organicfudge@earthssweetpleasures.com.
Happy Chocolating!

Haven't been on the site for awhile. It looks great, although I liked the old one too. Our new organic fudge business has taken up all my time. It's fun, exciting and CRAZY!!! Here's the coolest thing: just enter "organic chocolate fudge" in Google or Yahoo search box and see what comes up on the left: our site and MY BLOG www.chocolatefudgecafe.com. I've managed to get a couple of articles on there about fair trade and chocolate...more to come. We have been getting great feedback and picking up new accounts weekly. I sent some dark with walnuts to Clay and I'm waiting to find out if he will let me post his review :) Well, back to SEO and SEM. It's a whole new wide world out there!

Latest updates...I've been working on my blog for a week now. There's a lot more to it than I thought, and it seems the whole blogosphere gets more complicated every day! I'm having fun though. I'll let The Chocolate Life know when I'm up and running officially! We are getting orders on our new website www.earthssweetpleasures.com and working out the kinks and adding links. What a trip this world wide web is!

Ok I'll be the first to admit that I have never really liked fudge- it always seems like cocoa flavored sugar & butter and kind of overkill- but yours truly sounds much better than that. I'll meander over to the website to ck it out and good luck with all your endeavors in the choc world!

Earth's Sweet Pleasure is by far the most delicious dark chocolate fudge that's been put in my mouth. The texture and taste is unlike any fudge I've tasted before; my taste buds were delighted. Just found out recently their web site is: www.earthssweetpleasures.com enjoy!!!

We just made 27 lbs. of our Special Dark w/walnuts, and I'm eating a piece now! Oh, so yummy, creamy and delicioso! We have some store and cafe accounts here where we live and we make gold foil wrapped bars for them. Our fudge is nicely presented in a gourment fashion. And wait until you see our new boxes! Beautiful! I'm very new to this internet "myspace" type of thing. I think I erased my first comment, not sure. Hopefully this one will get posted. My husband and I are working fervently to get our website SEO'd (Search Engined Optimized). Meanwhile, I continue to learn more daily about anything and everything that has to do with chocolate. My blog, chocolatefudgecafe.com will open soon! I plan on getting to that this weekend when the hubby and daughter are both away and I have plenty of time to myself. I want it to be a fun site where we can share chocolate stories, learn how to help support "direct trade" with cacao farmers and also laugh and giggle. Humor is healing. If you'de like to see my husband and I in our "other capacity" as healers, you can visit www.healingwithheart.com. More to follow....stay tuned...

My education continues! I am becoming internet marketing savvy. If you go to organic product directories, like www.organicconsumers.org, or www.greenpeople.org, you can find our company listed. Also, if you google "organic chocolate", "organic fudge", etc. we come up on the right in the sponsored links. Don't click though...we have to pay for those! Just go directly to our website if you want to try some of our fudge. www.earthssweetpleasures.com More to come. This is very exciting for us because we have put a lot of resources into our website. We have our fudge in some of the local natural food stores up here around us, and it's selling like hot cakes! We can't wait for our new boxes to arrive so we can get out into the larger chocolate network. Our new box design is really beautiful. It has a picture of the rainforest on it and fudge being stirred...it looks very yummy and enticing. More to come as I enjoy this process.
